Michiel S. de Vries is professor and chair in Public Administration at the Radboud University Nijmegen. He is past president of IASIA, the chair of the NISPA working group on Local Government and full member of the group of independent experts on the European Charter of Local Self-government. He latest books are Performance-based Budgeting in the Public Sector (Palgrave publ, 2019) and Understanding Public Administration (Palgrave publ, 2016). His work was published in journals, including Administration & Society, International Review of Administrative Sciences,European Journal of Political Research and Local Government Studies.
